Michael Conforto Back on Monday Against Angels
Michael Conforto (knee) is starting in left field and batting seventh in Monday's series opener against the hosting Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Jose Soriano. Conforto was hit by a pitch on his right knee in Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays and was given a day off in Sunday's series finale as a result. The 32-year-old left-handed hitter is back in there on Monday, though, as he look to find the form he had at the plate in July. Conforto had an .827 OPS in July but has only three hits in 24 at-bats with an RBI and six strikeouts in nine games in August. He just has not been a consistent contributor for the first-place Dodgers in his first year in L.A., as he enters Monday's action hitting under .200 with nine home runs, 25 RBI and 41 runs scored in 103 games on the season.
