Mets Have Been Aggressive in Luis Robert Jr. Trade Talks
MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported Tuesday that the New York Mets have emerged as "the frontrunner" in trade talks for Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. The Padres and Phillies are among other teams with supposed interest in the 27-year-old. Robert Jr. struggled last season and has continued to do so this season, although he is a former All-Star and has stepped up his offensive production lately. Feinsand reported that second baseman Luisangel Acuna has been discussed as a potential part of a Mets-White Sox deal. Any change of scenery would be beneficial for Robert Jr. from a fantasy perspective, especially to a strong lineup like the Mets. For Acuna, the lineup would be a clear downgrade, but it would potentially present an opportunity for more routine playing time.
