Mac Jones Will Start When Healthy
2 years agoThe New England Patriots don't have any quarterback controversy. Mac Jones (ankle) will be the starter when he's healthy enough to return from a severe left high-ankle sprain, according to league officials with knowledge of the situation. And it could come as early as Monday night against the Chicago Bears. Fourth-round rookie Bailey Zappe has played well and completed 72.9 percent of his passes for 596 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in three games with Jones sidelined. Jones didn't play very well in three games before getting hurt, but New England spent the offseason trying to build around him after a successful rookie year in 2021. But fantasy managers hoping to play Jones this week as a QB2 in superflex leagues will be in a tough situation with the game being on Monday night.
