The New York Mets placed backup catcher Luis Torrens (forearm) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a bruised right forearm, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. While the Mets expect Torrens to return from the IL when first eligible on September 17, they wanted a fully healthy backup catcher available, with starter Francisco Alvarez playing through a sprained right thumb ligament and a broken left pinkie. Hayden Senger was called up from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. Torrens has not been on fantasy radars, as he carries a .225/.287/.348 slash line in 266 plate appearances. Senger hasn't fared much better offensively at Triple-A, so his call-up doesn't carry much fantasy significance.--Connelly Doan
