Kyle Karros Back in the Lineup on Friday
Kyle Karros (back) is starting at third base and will hit fifth in Friday's series opener in Pittsburgh against the Pirates and right-hander Braxton Ashcraft. Karros is returning to the starting nine after missing the last two games with back tightness. The 23-year-old son of former big-leaguer Eric Karros will be playing in only his 13th major-league game after recently being called up from the minors leagues. He has handled himself well in the early going and has a nice right-handed power stroke that will receive regular playing time down the stretch as the Rockies play out the string. So far in his first 44 MLB plate appearances, Karros has hit .270 with a home run, three doubles, five RBI, 10 runs scored and a 10:7 K:BB. Fantasy managers in NL-only leagues should be looking to get him back into their starting lineups.
