Kyle Gibson Signing With Rays
Kyle Gibson is signing an undisclosed deal with the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Gibson lands on his feet quickly after being released recently by the Baltimore Orioles after just four starts in which he held a brutal 16.78 ERA and 2.92 WHIP with 10 strikeouts and seven walks in 12 1/3 innings of work. The 13-year-old major-league veteran will now latch on with the sixth team in his career as he hopes to keep his playing days going. Tampa's five-man starting rotation is already full with Ryan Pepiot, Taj Bradley, Drew Rasmussen, Shane Baz and Zack Littell, but Gibson could become an option for the team if any of them go down with an injury. For now, Gibson is only worth stashing in deep AL-only leagues with an outside change of making more starts in 2025.
