Baltimore Orioles left-hander Keegan Akin (shoulder) began his rehab assignment at the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday. He is expected to have a few rehab outings before being activated from the injured list. His rehab assignment has now been moved to Triple-A Norfolk as he continues to work his way back from left shoulder inflammation. Before his injury, the lefty owned a 3.32 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 39 innings and could see an expanded role if the Orioles are sellers at the trade deadline. Baltimore could activate Akin soon to showcase him before the MLB trade deadline next Thursday.--Dr. Reuven Guy
