Justin Slaten Won't Need Another Rehab Appearance
Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Monday that relief pitcher Justin Slaten (shoulder) won't need another rehab appearance and could return to the team in the next few days. Slaten has been on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation since the end of May and began a rehab assignment on August 19. The 27-year-old has pitched three scoreless innings with Triple-A Worcester, allowing no runs on just one hit and no walks with five strikeouts. Slaten was an effective option for the Red Sox before his injury, compiling a 3.47 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP, and a 17.8% strikeout rate in 23 1/3 innings pitched. From a fantasy perspective, Slaten did not see many high-leverage opportunities, which limited his fantasy value.
