Jurickson Profar Officially Reinstated and Hitting in Five-Hole on Wednesday
Jurickson Profar from the restricted list on Wednesday and designated outfielder Alex Verdugo for assignment in a corresponding move. Profar is back with the Braves after serving an 80-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, and he will start in left field and hit fifth in his first game back on Wednesday against Los Angeles Angels left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. In 13 games in the minors with Triple-A Gwinnett, Profar hit .333 with three home runs. The 32-year-old veteran will return to starting duties in left in Atlanta but will hit in the middle of the lineup after serving as the team's leadoff hitter to begin the season when Ronald Acuna Jr. was still out while recovering from his knee injury. Nobody should be expecting Profar to be as good as he was in San Diego last year, but he should have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs the rest of the way.
