Josh Phegley Finds The Seats Yet Again
6 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Josh Phegley went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-5 victory against the Los Angeles Angels, his second homer in the past two days. The 31-year-old backstop, who has been mostly a backup, is showing he can handle the everyday chores behind the dish while also contributing plenty of offense. Manager Bob Melvin uses him out of the ninth spot of his order primarily, but Phegley is tied for the team lead in RBI with slugging third baseman Matt Chapman (32). Phegley is a must-start in AL-only fantasy leagues and not a bad No. 2 receiver in mixed play, either.
