Javonte Williams "On Track" For Start Of Season
2 years agoDenver Broncos general manager George Paton said that running back Javonte Williams (knee) is "on track" to be ready for the start of the 2023 season. Williams is jogging after suffering a major knee injury early in 2022 that involved multiple ligament tears. Paton's comments contradict recent reports that Williams could miss significant time early in 2023. The 22-year-old tore both his ACL and LCL in Week 4 against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders and needed season-ending surgery. Latavius Murray, Marlon Mack and Mike Boone are all set to hit free agency on March 15, but the Broncos will likely re-sign at least one of them given Williams' injury. Denver's offense hit rock bottom last year in the first year with quarterback Russell Wilson under center, but Williams still has RB1 upside in the primary role if he doesn't miss any time to begin the season.
