Jared Goff 2018 Player Outlook: Passing Volume Could Be A Concern
6 years agoAt this time last year, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was looking like yet another first-round bust after a largely disappointing rookie campaign. There was even talk of the Rams starting backup Sean Mannion over him. Goff wound up holding onto his job and turned in an excellent sophomore campaign, proving many doubters wrong. The young signal-caller finished the season with 3,809 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. Despite the impressive season, it would be wise to treat Goff as a high-end QB2 in 2018 instead of entrusting him as the starter for your fantasy squad. The Rams should boast an elite defense in 2018, which will keep the offense out of shootouts and pass-heavy game scripts. The Rams also have All-Pro running back Todd Gurley and it wouldn't be a surprise to see them become a run-first offense this upcoming season. Goff will be fine for those who wait on quarterbacks, just don't expect him to post numbers much better than what he did in 2017.
