James Paxton Set To Return Monday For Division Showdown
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter James Paxton is expected to return to the mound Monday night to take the ball against the division-leading Astros. The big left-hander has been dealing with back stiffness and has not pitched since July 12. Paxton (8-4) has endured some bumpy outings over the last month and has a 5.35 ERA over his last seven starts. With the gap in the division widening, the pressure is on the Mariners to win this series. Paxton for the season is averaging 11.69 strikeouts per nine innings but has allowed 16 home runs in only 119 1/3 innings. Paxton needs to be active in all fantasy formats heading into Monday night's start.
