Henry Baez Traded to Athletics
Henry Baez alongside Leodalis De Vries, Braden Nett, and Eduarniel Nunez in exchange for right-handed pitcher Mason Miller and left-handed pitcher JP Sears. Baez was ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect in the San Diego system on MLB Pipeline before the trade. This season, the 22-year-old right-hander has spent the entire campaign pitching for Double-A San Antonio. Through 96 2/3 innings with San Antonio, Baez has posted a stellar 1.96 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP. He has struck out 89 hitters and allowed just 31 free passes. Last season, Baez held a much higher 3.06 ERA at Double-A. Given his steady production at Double-A this season, he could be in the mix to make his Triple-A debut in Las Vegas during the second half.
