Grant Holmes Placed on 60-Day IL
The Atlanta Braves have placed right-hander Grant Holmes (elbow) on the 60-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. Holmes reported tightness following his start against the Rangers on Saturday, where he allowed four runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts over four innings. Now in his second year with Atlanta, Holmes owns a 3.99 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 22 appearances. The 29-year-old has seen a sharp increase in his walk rate, jumping from 1.98 to 4.23 per nine innings. That trend may help explain his inconsistency at the major league level.
