In addition to his impressive control, he has shown an ability to induce weak contact with a 54.4% ground ball rate. Wood possesses an impressive four-pitch mix that includes a four-seam fastball, slider, curveball, and changeup. His four-seamer sits in the mid-to-high 90s with a 38% whiff rate and .189 xBA.
