Freddy Peralta Named Game 2 Starter For Brewers
1 year agoThe Milwaukee Brewers officially named right-hander Freddy Peralta their Game 2 starter in the wild-card series on Wednesday against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. Peralta will be tasked with keeping Milwaukee's season alive after they dropped Game 1 on Tuesday by a score of 6-3. The Brew Crew will not have Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) for the wild-card series, and he might not even be available the rest of the postseason if the Brewers advance to the National League Division Series or beyond. Peralta was solid in 2023, going 12-10 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 210 strikeouts in 165 2/3 innings over his 30 starts. The 27-year-old didn't actually face the Diamondbacks at all during the regular season. Peralta was slightly better at home with a 3.44 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 12.8 K/9 in 89 innings over 16 starts.
