Freddie Freeman Cleared To Rejoin Team
4 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman and pitcher Touki Toussaint have been cleared to rejoin the team in summer camp. Freeman tested positive for COVID-19 and experienced some symptoms, but the Braves aren't ruling him out for Opening Day next Friday. Even if the 30-year-old left-handed slugger isn't ready right off the bat, he shouldn't slip too far in fantasy drafts in the next week. His current ADP sits at 17 after he hit .295/.389/.549 with 38 home runs, 121 RBI, 113 runs scored and six steals in 158 games for Atlanta in 2019. Freeman is a four-time All-Star and an elite fantasy first baseman. Toussaint also tested positive for COVID-19 and is likely to miss the start of the regular season, although he should contribute for Atlanta in some fashion in 2020. You can ignore the right-hander in mixed fantasy leagues.
