Andre Pallante to Remain in Rotation and Start on Sunday
Andre Pallante, who has gone 1-8 with an 8.27 ERA in his last nine starts, will start in Sunday's series finale against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds. MLB.com's John Denton explains that Pallante's underlying metrics show that his stuff is similar to what he had last yeaer, but hitters have adjusted. The Cardinals want him to work through the necessary changes. Needless to say, we wouldn't recommend using the 26-year-old in starting fantasy lineups this weekend against a desperate Reds team. The former fourth-rounder is now 6-12 on the year with a career-high 5.44 ERA (4.63 FIP) and 1.42 WHIP with a career-high 95 strikeouts and 48 walks in 139 innings over his 26 starts. In two starts against Cincy this year, Pallante has gone 0-2 but allowed only three earned runs with three walks and eight K's in 12 innings.
