Evan Carter Could Start Rehab Assignment on Tuesday
Evan Carter (back) took live batting practice on Monday and could start a minor-league rehab assignment as early as Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Kennedi Landry. Barring a setback with his back, it's possible that Carter could rejoin the big-league team this weekend or early next week. When he returns, the 22-year-old left-handed hitter should at least be on the strong side of a platoon in center field against right-handed pitchers, moving Wyatt Langford back to left field on a daily basis. Carter is a former second-round pick and has the ability to make noise in all fantasy categories, but he's had a tough time staying on the field for long periods of time due to injuries. He has played in a career-high 55 games in 2025 and is hitting .238 (40-for-168) with four home runs, 21 RBI, 12 steals and 27 runs scored in 189 trips to the plate.
