2 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Eddie Butler took the loss in Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Butler pitched the 12th innings, and gave up an earned run on two hits and a walk. Butler now has a 4.56 ERA on the season, with 13 strikeouts in 23 2/3 relief innings. The Rangers are looking to stretch Butler out in a bullpen role, with a view to him possibly joining the starting rotation later in the season. However, Butler is unlikely to offer much fantasy value, even if he does become a starter. Butler may have slight value as a spot starter when faced with a good matchup.--Ben Rolfe - RotoBaller
