Eagles Agree To Trade Carson Wentz To Colts
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first-rounder, according to league sources. Wentz had the worst season of his career in 2020 and was benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts late in the season as a result. He'll reunite with head coach Frank Reich in Indy after the two worked together in Philadelphia. Hopefully for Wentz's fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues, Reich can return the former second overall pick in 2016 to prominence. However, the Colts are more of a run-first team and aren't exactly flush with receiving talent, plus T.Y. Hilton is a free agent. Wentz could benefit from the change of scenery, but he'll be a low-end QB2 in single-year leagues in 2021 with a lot to prove. Back in Philly, this trade signals the beginning of the Hurts era for the Eagles.
