9 months agoUtah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell finished with a game-high 28 points across 36 minutes in Monday's 100-94 home victory against the Detroit Pistons. He also contributed five rebounds, two assists and two steals with four turnovers, and he dropped in three triples to go along with a 7-for-9 night at the free-throw line. He has scored at least 26 points in six consecutive games, the best such stretch of his career. Mitchell appeared to be tiring down the stretch, hitting just 1-for-7 from the field in 14-plus minutes in the third and fourth quarters, but he sprung back to life with a key three-point play with 48.9 seconds to go to help Utah salt away the victory.--Daniel E.
