Dolphins Sign Jason Sanders To Five-Year Extension
4 years agoThe Miami Dolphins are signing kicker Jason Sanders to a five-year, $22 million contract extension on Tuesday that includes $10 million guaranteed and ties him to the team through the 2026 season, according to a source. The All-Pro is one of the league's top kickers after making 36 of his 39 field-goal attempts in 2020, with a long of 56 yards. Sanders was the only every-day kicker in the NFL last year to make all of his extra-point tries, making all 36 of them. He's Miami's all-time leader in field-goal percentage (86.5) and has converted 77 of his 89 career attempts. A seventh-round selection in 2018, Sanders is now fourth in the league in per-year average in terms of salary. While Miami's quarterback situation is a bit shaky after Tua Tagovailoa struggled in his rookie season, the Dolphins offense should be good enough to make Sanders a strong fantasy kicker in 2021.
