Devonta Freeman Won't Play Against Washington
4 years agoNew York Giants running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) will not play in Week 9 against the Washington Football Team. It will be the second straight game that Freeman will miss. Wayne Gallman should continue to serve as the G-Men's primary running back, with Dion Lewis being sprinkled in here and there. But Gallman should be merely considered a low-upside RB3/flex in deeper leagues against a Washington defense that has been surprisingly stout against the run, allowing just 638 rushing yards and four touchdowns to opposing runners through eight weeks. Gallman played on just 32 offensive snaps in the Week 8 loss to the Buccaneers, and veteran Alfred Morris was also mixed in.
