Devonta Freeman Aggravates Ankle Injury
4 years agoNew York Giants running back Devonta Freeman (ankle) suffered what was described as a minor aggravation of his ankle injury in practice on Thursday, according to a source. However, he's still hoping to play in Week 10 against the Eagles. Freeman has already missed the last two games because of the ankle injury, and he's now highly questionable to play this Sunday against Philly. His practice status on Friday will tell us a lot more. If the 28-year-old misses his third straight contest, Wayne Gallman should once again see a larger workload in the backfield while splitting touches with Dion Lewis and Alfred Morris. The matchup against the division-rival Eagles isn't a great one for the running game, but Gallman would have RB3/flex appeal as the lead back if Freeman is inactive.
