Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson announced that he will be released on his Instagram on Friday. Jackson was due $9 million in non-guaranteed salary for the 2021 season. The speedy yet oft-injured deep threat said that he still wants to play at the age of 34. Jackson's second stint with the Eagles was forgettable, as he had just 23 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns in eight games due to injuries over the last two seasons. He was brought back to be a field-stretching option for Carson Wentz (now with the Colts) in 2019, but he missed most of the season due to injury and the Eagles brought in more receiver help through the draft. The Eagles will incur $5.8 million in dead money in 2021 by releasing Jackson, while saving $4.85 million.
