David Montgomery Posts 143 Total Yards, One Touchdown In Defeat
4 years agoChicago Bears running back David Montgomery carried the ball 11 times for 103 yards and added 40 receiving yards with one touchdown in the Bears 41-25 blowout loss to the Packers in Week 12. The Bears running game came into the contest averaging a league-worst 78.2 rushing yards a game but Montgomery changed all that on the first drive. The second-year back dashed up the middle for a 60-yard run, the longest of his career. Montgomery was able to find consistent running lanes throughout the game and added a touchdown reception late in the game to cap off the best fantasy effort of the season. With quarterback Mitchell Trubisky under center, the Bears running game has posted at least 122 rushing yards in each of his four starts this season. This bodes well for Montgomery heading into the team's must-win game against the Lions in Week 13.
