Daniel Gossett Heads To 10-Day DL Tuesday; Josh Phegley Recalled
7 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Daniel Gossett was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Tuesday with a flexor muscle strain after undergoing an MRI on his right elbow. Backup catcher Josh Phegley was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Paul Blackburn, who has been out since spring training with a forearm strain, appears to be the guy who will take Gossett's spot in the rotation. The A's starting rotation has been plagued with injuries this season, and a good deal of shuffling has been necessary. While impactful for the A's team, these moves are not actionable for fantasy players, given that none of these players are all that rosterable except in maybe the deepest of leagues. Blackburn is one to watch in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues, though, if you're in need of pitching help.
