Texas Rangers right-hander Dane Dunning is likely to start in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Saturday in Baltimore against the Orioles. The Rangers didn't need Dunning in their two-game sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays in the wild-card series, so he'll be well-rested and ready to go this weekend in his first playoff start of the year. The 28-year-old went 12-7 with a career-low 3.70 ERA (4.27 FIP), 1.26 WHIP, 55 walks and a career-high 140 strikeouts in 172 2/3 innings pitched over his 35 outings (26 starts) in his third year in Texas. Dunning faced the O's in his second start of the year back on April 4 and took a no-decision while going four scoreless innings with a walk and strikeout. He finished out the regular season strong, too, posting a 2.70 ERA with 10 walks and 25 K's in 26 2/3 frames over five starts.--Keith HernandezRead More News
