Christopher Bell of Joe Gibbs Racing had a strong performance during Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez as he finished as the runner-up in the event. Bell started the race from the 31st position and quickly made up ground from his deep starting position during the first stage. He made it as high as 10th, but due to pit strategy, he ended the first stage in 20th, intending to flip the stages and gain track position as the second stage began. This paid off as he made it up to the top five and eventually worked his way to second and earned stage points by the end of stage two. In the final stage, Bell briefly took the lead from Shane Van Gisbergen early in the stage until SVG took it back from Bell. The No. 20 Toyota driver then spent the rest of the race chasing down Van Gisbergen and fending off drivers like Alex Bowman for second place. Bell's second-place finish marked his first top-5 finish in the 2025 season since Kansas back in the second week of May.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
