Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe ended Sunday's Viva Mexico 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in the seventh position after a wild topsy-turvy day. Briscoe began Sunday's race from the 19th position and although he made up a few positions into the Top 15 to start, he got involved in a multi car accident on lap eight. Despite receiving damage, Briscoe continued on but fell one lap down due to the length of time it took his team to make repairs. Briscoe ended the first stage in the 33rd position and was the original recipient of the free pass during the stage break until he pitted twice for fuel, incurring a one-lap penalty. Briscoe later got his lap back through the free pass in the middle of stage two on lap 33 after Ryan Truex spun and brought the caution back. The No. 19 Toyota driver then spent the rest of the second stage moving through the field, making it up to 17th by the end of it. In the final stage, Briscoe finally worked his way into the top 10 and even inside the top five during one of the restarts on lap 69, thanks to pit strategy. On this restart, Briscoe also hit one of the tire barriers on the track and fell back outside of the top 10, forcing him to recover ground again. Briscoe climbed his way into the top 10 and finished seventh by the end of the race, nabbing his seventh top-10 result of the 2025 season.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
