Carson Whisenhunt Could Be Nearing Return From Injured List
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Carson Whisenhunt (back) could be ready to return from the 15-day injured list soon, per SF Chronicle's Susan Slusser. Whisenhunt was placed on the IL retroactive to August 28 with a back strain. The 24-year-old prospect was not having the most successful first stint in the big leagues, going 2-1 with a 5.01 ERA, a 1.46 WHIP, and a 15.7% strikeout rate in five starts and 23 1/3 innings pitched. He does carry some fantasy appeal in dynasty leagues, but his fantasy appeal will be limited for the rest of this season if he is able to return in time.
