Carson Wentz Trade Isn't Imminent
4 years agoIt was reported over the weekend that a trade of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was coming in the next few days, with the Chicago Bears one of the most aggressive teams. The Indianapolis Colts are also believed to be interested. However, nothing is imminent as of Monday and the Eagles are waiting for a deal that they believe is worth it. One possibility, although unlikely, is that they do not receive an offer to their liking and keep Wentz for the 2021 season. The expectation is that he'll be traded and that Jalen Hurts will begin next year as the Eagles starting signal-caller. The 28-year-old had the worst season of his career in 2020 and was benched in favor of the rookie Hurts down the stretch. While he's still on the right side of 30 and is athletic enough to be a starter in the NFL, Wentz has some work to do to get back in the good graces of fantasy managers. Perhaps a change of scenery will be the spark that he needs.
