Buccaneers Want To Retain Their Free Agents
4 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians hopes that the allure of winning another championship in 2021 can pull most of the team's impending free-agents back for another season. That includes players like wide receiver Chris Godwin, defensive end Shaquil Barrett, linebacker Lavonte David, tight end Rob Gronkowski, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and running back Leonard Fournette. "It's usually the money... if it's close, I think our guys really want to stay," Arians said. The presence of quarterback Tom Brady should entice veterans looking to chase a ring at the end of their careers, and he could also help keep a number of players in Tampa. The Bucs might franchise tag Godwin for around $16 million, as he's one of the top wideouts slated for free agency this offseason. Of all the team's free agents, Godwin is the least likely to leave.
