New York Islanders center Brock Nelson exploded for a hat trick in the third period against Dallas on Saturday, taking his team to a 4-2 win. He started things off by making it 2-1 with a power-play goal 4:17 into the period and quickly added another one to give the team some breathing space before wrapping things up with an empty-netter. The Islanders have been awful for most of the season, but they are currently on a great run and multiple players have benefited from it, including Nelson. The 30-year-old has scored in six of the past eight games, moving to 27 goals for the season. He's added 12 assists in 50 outings, and Nelson is nicely set up for further success in the upcoming games, with the Islanders getting ready to face Philadelphia, Ottawa and Detroit.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
