7/10:Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Brandon Maurer was sent to Triple-A back in April after he was terrible to start the season. He was carrying an ERA over 12, so it made sense. After he posted a bad 5.48 ERA at Triple-A, he was recalled in mid-June. In nine appearances since his promotion, he's posted an ERA of...12.27. Monday, he allowed an insurance run for Minnesota just to make sure the game was in the bag. Since he wasn't any good at Triple-A, it's not clear why he went up to the majors instead of down to Double-A, but either way, he certainly shouldn't be owned by anyone. Not even the Royals.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
