Brady Basso Reinstated From Injured List and Optioned
Brady Basso (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list on Monday and then optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas, according to the team. The A's also transferred catcher Austin Wynns (abdomen) to the 60-day IL, which means he won't return this season. The 27-year-old southpaw has yet to pitch in the big leagues this season after he was placed on the IL before the start of the year with a left-shoulder strain. Basso had a setback along the way and will now go back to the minors to give himself a chance to pitch for the A's down the stretch. The former 16th-round pick in 2019 out of Oklahoma State made his major-league debut in 2024 and went 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA (3.88 FIP) and 1.25 WHIP with a 19:5 K:BB in seven outings (four starts). Basso is a command artist with limited long-term fantasy value.
