Bailey Ober Gets Game 1 Nod For Twins In ALDS
1 year agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Bailey Ober has been named the team's starter for Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Saturday against the Houston Astros on the road. Ober will be coming in on plenty of rest after not pitching in the two-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays in the wild-card series, but he'll have a tough matchup against Houston on his hands. The 28-year-old was sent to the minors for mental and physical rest in September, and he was excellent to close out the regular season with a 2.08 ERA, three walks and 26 strikeouts in 21 2/3 frames over four starts. Ober didn't face the Astros at all in the regular season. He'll be a DFS sleeper on Saturday and has pitched to a 3.57 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 75 K's in 68 innings in his 12 starts on the road in 2023.
