Anthony Rendon Scratched From Intrasquad Game
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon (oblique) was scratched from the team's intrasquad game on Friday night with oblique tightness and is day-to-day. It doesn't sound as though the Angels think this is a serious injury, but oblique injuries have a tendency to linger, so this one is worth watching for an elite player like Rendon. The third baseman signed a seven-year, $245 million deal with the Halos in the offseason, so he'd hate to get off on the wrong foot and miss Opening Day. The 30-year-old had a breakout season in 2019 on his way to helping the Nationals win the World Series, hitting .319 with 34 home runs, 117 runs scored and 126 RBI. He's a top-five fantasy third baseman with an ADP of 20.
