OwnersBox Pitcher Picks
On OwnersBox, you select two Pitchers, and need three games from these two pitchers. Any game you go over after the third, best ball mode is activated - meaning the lowest score is dropped. So a good approach is obviously looking for affordable two-start pitchers for the week with at least three solid matchups in mind.
Sandy Alcantara, MIA ($30,000) - v PHI, v NYM
Rarely will I pay up at both pitcher slots, but this week doesn't present much value in the arms, while I feel comfortable with the value bats so let's splurge. Alcantara gets two starts at home this week - where he has been great this season. Through 84.2 innings at LoanDepot Park (gross) he boasts a 2.79 FIP, 0.93 WHIP, and a 25.7 K%. Philadelphia Phillies are hot right now, but that usually comes with the territory when facing Arizona and Washington - and I expect this Hoskins-less team to begin to skid once they leave those horrendous pitching staffs behind. The Mets are getting booed, roasted by their owner on Twitter, and giving their fans two thumbs down and that's about all you need to know there.
Framber Valdez, HOU ($32,000) - at SDP, v SEA
You don't usually want to pick on SLAM Diego, but they have been struggling against southpaws. The Padres own just a 67 wRC+ against LHP the L14, plus we get to drop the lowest score anyway! The second start for Framber is quite solid, as the Mariners own the second lowest BA against LHP this season with a 25.8 K%. Like Sandy above, Framber enjoys pitching at home, where he owns a 2.73 ERA and a 4% increase in K.
OwnersBox Infielder Picks
The Infield is my favorite position on Ownersbox. You only need 28 games from the five players. Simple math tells you if you average six games per infielder, you are already at the two lowest scores dropped from the lot. That way you can utilize five-game studs as long as you pair them eventually with a seven-game player also to maintain that 30 total games. The Outfield is much more difficult to take advantage this way, so don't waste the opportunity with your infielders!
Abraham Toro, SEA ($16,800) - 6 Games
The Mariners get a nice start to the week with three games at Chase Field against Arizona, then finish it off with three games at Houston - where Toro can get his revenge narrative on. Behind Ty France, Toro has been the Mariners' best hitter on the road L30 and his switch-hitting ability ensures he should be in all six of these games.
C.J. Cron, COL ($23,100) - 7 Games
Cron is en fuego right now. Over the L30 he boasts a 231 wRC+, .404 BA, 1.346 OPS, and .461 ISO across 104 PA. That's pretty ridiculous. Now we get six games of that at Coors Field? $3,300 a game is an absolute steal here, one which I will gladly take.

OwnersBox Outfielder Picks
As I mentioned previously, filling the three Outfield slots is more difficult than the five Infielders on OwnersBox. You need 17 games from the three hitters, so that means you mostly want to stay away from five-game hitters. I try to get at least one seven-gamer if possible and aim for at least 19 total games for two lowest score drops.
Brandon Marsh, LAA ($13,200) - 6 Games
Over the last month, the best hitter on the Angels has not been Shohei Ohtani. It has not been Jared Walsh. It was been Brandon Marsh. Over that span he is hitting .315 with a 127 wRC+. This week he gets to enjoy a four game series against arguably the worst pitching staff in baseball in the Rangers. Over the L14 they have allowed a league-worst 5.32 xFIP to LHB.
Sam Hilliard, COL ($16,800) - 7 Games
A power hitter with seven games, six of which being at Coors Field, for less than $17,000? Why the hell not. Hilliard has shown some signs of life at the plate over the last month, but more importantly he rakes at home. Across 69 PA (nice) at Coors this season, he carrys a big .359 ISO that is second to only Cron. The best news for Hilliard about this slate is there is only one projected left-handed starter projected (Drew Smyly).
