NBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks – FanDuel DFS Basketball Advice for 11/12/15

This is more like it. Three games. That’s all we’ve got to choose from tonight. On the surface tonight looks pretty tough, but pending a few injuries there could be some great value picks .

Luckily the most impactful injury status is Rudy Gobert (battling an ankle injury) who is playing in first game of the night. It’s always risky to make picks based on injuries that aren’t final until after the rosters are locked in.

Good luck and feel free to hit me up on twitter @udontknowziplow with any DFS questions

FanDuel Point Guard Picks

Brandon Knight (PG, PHX) -$6,700

Although it might be tempting to roster Chris Paul or Stephen Curry , I think Brandon Knight will provide the best value tonight. Last time he played the Clippers this season, he almost posted a triple double, and scored 35.4 fantasy points.

Los Angeles will be traveling and playing the second half of a tough back to back following last night’s game against Dallas. Phoenix will be fully rested and playing at home. On top of all that, with CP3 likely guarding Bledsoe, the Clippers will have to stick J.J Redick (pending injury), Austin Rivers, or Jamal Crawford on him. On a good day none of those players are above average defenders, and I think Brandon Knight will have his way with all three.

Brandon Knight will also be much less owned than Stephen Curry and Chris Paul, which will give you a big advantage if he exceeds value.

Also Consider: Trey Burke (UTA, PG)

FanDuel Shooting Guard Picks

Kevin Martin (MIN, SG) - $5,000

On short slates like tonight, you have to take some chances, especially at the thinnest position in FD DFS- shooting guard. Kevin Martin has a pretty low floor, only eclipsing 16 fantasy points in two out of his last four games, but I think this matchup is perfect for him.

Golden State will push the pace and jack up tons of threes as usual, which usually forces teams to do the same. Kevin Martin can get hot, and I could easily seem him scoring around 20 real points, with any assists or rebounds as an added bonus.

With his cheap price, you only need 25 fantasy points to reach value, and he should save you enough money to pay up for the stars

Also consider: Alec Burks (UTA, SG) , Zach Lavine (MIN, SG)  (pending Rubio Injury)

FanDuel Small Forward Picks

Nemanja Bjelica (MIN, SF) - $4,600

No I cannot pronounce his name, but yes I will be including Nemanja Bjelica in all of my fanduel lineups. It’s not very often you can find a player averaging over 12 (real) PTS, seven REB, four AST, and playing over 30 minutes a game for under $5,000.

He almost scored 40 fantasy points against Chicago last weekend, and I would not be surprised if he came close to that against IND. None of their perimeter players can defend Bjelica other than Paul George, but he will likely have his hands full with Andrew Wiggins all day.

What I like about Nemanja is that he’s not dependent on one category to score fantasy points. He can contribute in scoring, rebounds, assists, and every once in a while will get a steal or a block.

Let’s all hope that everyone else on Fanduel either doesn’t know who he is yet, or doesn't scroll down far enough to see his name.

Also consider:Gordon Hayward (SF, UTA)

FanDuel Power Forward Picks

Derrick Favors (UTA, PF) - $7,800

This pick is very much hinged on the injury status of Rudy Gobert. Gobert rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter against the Cavaliers on Tuesday and didn’t practice yesterday. Right now, his status is questionable, but considering he didn’t practice yesterday, I would consider this situation closer to doubtful.

Although Favors might have to deal more with Hassan Whiteside if Gobert does sit out, I still like the fact that he will definitely have a big boost in rebounds without a seven footer to compete with on his own team. Favors has the ability to put up big numbers if he gets his touches, and the Jazz will look to him to anchor the defense on the other end in Gobert’s absence (more blocks!!).

I’ve mentioned before that I like rostering PF/C playing other big name PF/C. This might seem somewhat contrarian, but I look at it as there will be a lot of action in the paint, which means plenty of opportunities for rebounds, points, and blocks.

I would also strongly consider rostering Trevor Booker if you aren’t a big Derrick Favors fan. At $3,900, he’ll be the second best value to the previously mentioned Nemanja Bjelica

Also consider: Trevor Booker (UTA, PF),  Chris Bosh (MIA, PF)

FanDuel Center Picks

Hassan Whiteside (MIA, C) - $8,300

Although I love Hassan Whiteside as a play tonight regardless of Rudy Gobert’s injury status, he becomes the best elite player on the board if he does sit. Whiteside has scored over 40 fantasy points over his last two games, and it does not look like he's slowing down anytime soon.

If this keeps up Whiteside will be priced up there with the most expensive guys in the league. He’s averaging almost four blocks a night, which is 12 fantasy points right off the bat. Very quietly Whiteside has also been developing on offense, regularly eclipsing 20 real points, always putting him in play for a 20-10 night.

Make sure to monitor Gobert’s status, but I would probably play Hassan Whiteside anyways considering the other players available at this position. There aren’t any high priced guys I like tonight, so Whiteside could wind up being my most expensive player rostered, which will really help me ration my budget more effectively on the short slate.

Honorable Mentions: Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN, C)
