NASCAR Truck Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Sonoma DoorDash 250 (6/11/22)

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series heads to Sonoma on Saturday. It's the first time the series has visited this track since 1998. Boris Said won that race. None of the drivers running on Saturday were in that event.

Last week, part-time driver Corey Heim won his second race of the season. Zane Smith won the only road course race so far this season, leading 11 laps on his way to the victory. Kyle Busch led the most laps in that race.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the DoorDash 250 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station. This slate locks on 6/11/2022 at 7:49 p.m. ET.

Truck Series DFS Picks - DraftKings

Be sure to also check out all of our other weekly NASCAR DFS articles and analysis to help you set your optimal DFS lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Kyle Busch ($12,000) - Starting 3rd

It's finally happened: Kyle Busch is priced in a way that actually makes him playable in Truck Series DFS. He's been $15k in two of his previous four races. Now at $12k, I'm ready to bet on Busch finding his form and pulling off one of those dominant Kyle Busch races that we know he has in him.

He technically starts third, but with pole-winner Carson Hocevar crashing at the end of qualifying, Busch should slide up to the front row, offering him a chance to get out and lead laps early. He led 31 of them at COTA in the last Truck Series road course race, plus he brings a ton of track experience here for a race where most drivers haven't seen a ton of Sonoma.

At the Cup Series level, Busch has two wins here, with eight top 10s in 16 starts.

Zane Smith ($10,300) - Starting 13th

Decent amount of place differential upside here for Smith, who won the only other road course race that the Truck Series has run this season

In that race at COTA, Smith qualified second, leading 11 of the 46 laps on his way to the win. All day, there were only two drivers who felt like they had a real shot at that race: Smith and Kyle Busch.

Overall, Smith has started five Truck Series races at road courses, with three top 10s.

Kaz Grala ($8,100) - Starting 20th

Grala is one of the best road course drivers in this race. He's also in middling equipment.

But Grala managed to finish 14th at COTA in this 02 truck. And last year, he ran three races in it, all at road courses, and all resulting in top 12s, including a second-place at COTA.

I think it's clear that the 02 isn't running as well as it did last year. This Young Motorsports team has two top 10s this year between all its drivers, whereas last year its drivers combined for five of them. Still, it's not the worst truck in this field, and Grala is extremely talented. Love the PD upside here.

Tanner Gray ($7,000) - Starting 27th

Another PD play that I like. Gray has had speed this year, with an average finish of 16.5 and already double his top 10s from last season.

He started 28th at COTA then finished 17th. In five road course races in the Truck Series, his average finish is 19.4.

But that's including last year's poor season, where he struggled everywhere to find speed. Back in 2020, when he was about as fast as he's been this year, he was 15th at the Daytona road course race, the only road course that the series ran that year.

Todd Bodine ($6,700) - Starting 31st

Veteran driver Todd Bodine is back again this week as he continues his quest to reach 800 starts in NASCAR.

I like Bodine a lot this week. The 58-year-old hasn't run a road course race in a while, but he does have five Cup Series starts at this track, including an eight-place finish back in 1995. Yes, that was a long time ago. But Bodine brings experience to a race that lacks experience.

Also notable: in nine Xfinity Series starts at road courses (all at Watkins Glen, which is a different beast than Sonoma, to be fair), Bodine had six top fives.

Brad Perez ($5,400) - Starting 32nd

Did I choose Brad Perez over Jade Buford for this final spot in part because it gave me a chance to post a picture of Perez's car, which is sponsored by the band I Set My Friends On Fire, for some reason? Sure.

But also, I mention Perez because at COTA, he started 32nd and finished 20th, earning 35 fantasy points. He has some experience in SCCA and showed at COTA that he can get a truck through a road course race in the Truck Series, which is pretty tough to do.
