NASCAR Practice Speeds, Lap Averages, and Notes for Martinsville (2026)

Bubba Wallace - NASCAR DFS Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy NASCAR

NASCAR practice speeds, lap averages and notes for the 2026 Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Use the NASCAR stats and data to build DFS lineups on DraftKings. Bubba Wallace was fastest.

The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday afternoon in preparation for the upcoming Cook Out 400 on Sunday afternoon.

The 37-car field was split into two groups for practice.

Below you will find the two groups, key notes from the practice session, as well as the practice speeds for all drivers.

Important Practice Notes

Long Run Speed - Practice at Martinsville can be deceiving, because being fast for one lap doesn't mean much. Instead, you need to analyze long-run speeds by these drivers to determine which ones will actually be fast during the race.

Shane van Gisbergen - The No. 97 Trackhouse team had a bit of a scare on the morning of practice, as their battery shorted out everything in the car. The broadcast didn't mention it more than once so it can be assumed that the issue was fixed.
