MLB DFS Lineup Picks And Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 7/25/15

Saturday boasts a full slate of games including starts by several ace pitchers such as Madison Bumgarner, Johnny Cueto, Chris Sale, and Matt Harvey. There will certainly be room for offense, though, with a powerful Reds lineup visiting the Rockies and a slew of other favorable match-ups for scoring runs. Five games start before 6:10 ET with the earliest beginning at 4:05 ET, so be sure to have your lineup in and locked early on.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $50,000 in cash prizes, including 5K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Cincinatti Reds ( @ COL )

The Reds as a team have only mustered 354 RBI on the season, a number that puts them in the bottom third of the league, yet their 105 HR rank them 7th among MLB teams. That goes to show just how much power exists in the Cincinnati lineup. Placing that lineup in the thin air of Colorado against a young pitcher in Chris Rusin who currently has a 3.88 ERA seems like a prime scenario for some fireworks.

Players to Watch: Jay Bruce, Todd Frazier, Joey Votto

Boston Red Sox ( vs. DET )

Like the Reds, Boston’s offense ranks in the middle of the pack despite seemingly oozing with potential, and the team has been in an absolute freefall for more than a week now. That doesn’t change the fact that this is a juicy matchup, though. It's one against a pitcher in Alfredo Simon who has given up a whopping 32 ER across his last six starts. The Minnesota Twins put up five runs on 10 hits against Simon two weeks ago, and even the Mariners plated four against the Tigers' struggling starter on July 20th. Expect a healthy amount of runs for the Red Sox on Saturday.

Players to Watch: Xander Bogaerts, Hanley Ramirez, Mookie Betts

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Carlos Carrasco (SP, CLE) - $10,300

Carrasco’s 3.94 ERA may not seem terribly appealing at first, but his WHIP stands at a strong 1.17 and he’s given up three runs or fewer in eight of his last 10 starts while striking out seven or more in six of them. Couple that with a great match-up against a White Sox team that currently sports the weakest offense in the league and Carrasco becomes a solid value even at his somewhat lofty price tag.

Gio Gonzalez (SP, WSH) - $8,300

Gio has been great as of late, giving up only four earned runs across his last four starts while striking out 19 in that span. He'll face a Pirates offense on Saturday that sits in the bottom half of the league in terms of runs produced, and the Nationals pitcher has done well against Pittsburgh this season, managing seven scoreless innings against them a little more than a month ago. As the 12th most expensive Pitcher on DraftKings today, Gio makes for an excellent pick.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Josh Donaldson (3B, TOR) - $4,400

Coming off a series against his former team in which he hit .384 with three extra-base hits, Donaldson finds himself facing a struggling J.A. Happ in Seattle on Saturday. Of the 10 HR Happ has given up on the season, nine have been to right-handed hitters. That, coupled with a Blue Jays offense averaging a league best 5.26 R/G, gives Donaldson every opportunity for HR, Runs, and RBI on Saturday.

Xander Bogaerts (SS, BOS) - $3,900

A solid bat on a Red Sox team with a juicy Saturday matchup, Bogaerts is coming off a 3-5 game last night and takes a .357 AVG over his last 15 games into a battle against a struggling Alfredo Simon who has given up four or more runs in each of his last six starts. While you can’t expect any power, Bogaerts has done nothing but accumulate runs, hits, and RBI thus far in 2015 and should continue to do so on Saturday.

Eric Hosmer (1B, KC) - $4,200

Few players in the league have been seeing the ball as well as Hosmer this week. The 1B is hitting .500 across his last 28 AB and has one HR and four RBI to go along with 20 total bases in that span. Hosmer will look to extend what has become a nine-game hitting streak against Scott Feldman on Saturday and should be able to given Feldman’s .300 OBA. As long as the Royals in front of him are getting on base, Hosmer could be in for a big day.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Michael Brantley (OF, CLE) - $4,100

Brantley has been a force over the last week or so, posting nine RBI with two HR and a .391 AVG over his last seven games. He will face Chris Sale on Saturday, but the outfielders .301 AVG against lefties thus far in 2015 suggests the matchup may not completely deplete his potential for production. Priced well below many of the top flight outfielders today, he remains a good value.

Hunter Pence (OF, SF) - $4,700

Pence has 15 RBI in 51 AB since returning from the DL a week and a half ago and has hit .353 over that stretch. He also has a good matchup at home against a young pitcher in Chris Bassitt on Saturday. Right-handed hitters like Pence are hitting .293 against Bassit, and with the Giants lineup heating up—25 runs in the team’s last three games—Pence could yet again be the catalyst for a high scoring affair in San Francisco.

Jason Heyward (OF, STL) - $4,100

Heyward and the Cardinals play the Braves on Saturday, where they’ll face a right-hander in Shelby Miller who has been slapped around in three of his last four starts. Eight of Heyward’s nine HR this season have come against righties, and he carries a .343 AVG across his last 15 games, making him a good option hitting in a potent Cardinals’ lineup.
