MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/28/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Rafael Devers - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB DFS Picks, Betting Picks

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on June 28, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

There are no day games Friday, leaving us with packed DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. Still, there aren’t many top-tier pitchers that are set to take the mound, leaving the potential for some high-scoring games.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/28/2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Logan Gilbert vs. MIN ($9,900 DraftKings; $10,500 FanDuel)

Gilbert is one of the top pitchers scheduled to start Friday. He is in the midst of another excellent campaign, recording a 2.71 ERA and a 3.26 FIP. He struggled against the Twins earlier this season, giving up eight runs over four innings. However, that game was played in Minnesota. He has a career 3.59 FIP and 1.05 WHIP at home, so expect better results from him in their rematch.

Bailey Ober at SEA ($8,800 DraftKings; $9,800 FanDuel)

Ober needed just 89 pitches to throw a complete game against the Athletics in his last start. He allowed only two runs while recording 10 strikeouts. Outside of two bad starts against the Royals in which Ober gave up a combined 14 runs over 6.1 innings, he is having a good season with a 4.19 FIP and a 1.11 WHIP. The Mariners have scored the sixth-fewest runs and struck out the most times in baseball, setting up Ober with the potential to further improve his ratios.

Drew Thorpe vs. COL ($7,300 DraftKings; $7,600 FanDuel)

Thorpe walked four batters in his last outing against the Twins, but he held them scoreless over six innings because he gave up just two hits. He has been wild, walking 11 batters over 14.1 innings since being called up. Still, he makes for a viable tournament option against a Rockies team that has a .645 OPS on the road.

Also consider: Nick Pivetta vs. SD, Dakota Hudson at CWS

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Rafael Devers – 3B, BOS vs. Randy Vasquez ($5,700 DK; $3,900 FD)

Vasquez has not started off his career with the Padres on the right foot. Over his 10 starts with his new team, he has a 5.10 ERA and a 5.46 FIP. With his meager 14.6 percent strikeout rate, he has given up 68 hits and 10 home runs over 47.2 innings. This is a great spot to roll with Devers, who has a .276 ISO and a .400 wOBA at home.

Luis Rengifo – 2B/3B/SS, LAA vs. Kenta Maeda ($5,100 DK; $3,100 FD)

Maeda hasn’t logged more than five innings in any of his last six starts. Part of the reason why he hasn’t been able to pitch deep into games is that he has a 1.43 WHIP for the season. The Angels don’t have a ton of talented hitters who can exploit this favorable matchup, but don’t forget about Rengifo. He has been one of their few bright spots, posting a .349 wOBA and stealing 20 bases.

Spencer Horwitz – 1B/2B, TOR vs. Marcus Stroman ($3,900 DK; $2,800 FD)

Horwitz has proven to be a tough out, batting .340 with a .435 wOBA over 16 games. He has shown a stellar eye at the plate, recording a 10.0 percent strikeout rate and an 18.3 percent walk rate. He will be facing a starter who pitches to contact in Stroman, who has just 67 strikeouts over 91.1 innings. That makes him a viable target at his cheap salaries on both sites.

Also consider: Jose Ramirez, Elly De La Cruz, David Hamilton

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jarren Duran - OF, BOS vs. Randy Vasquez ($5,700 DK; $4,000 FD)

Another alarming stat for Vasquez is that left-handed hitters have posted a .533 wOBA against him this season. Durran already comes into this matchup on fire, hitting 24-for-59 (.407) with a .610 slugging percentage over his last 13 games. For those rolling with a Red Sox stack, be sure to include Duran in it.

Brent Rooker – OF, OAK vs. Slade Cecconi ($4,800 DK; $3,200 FD)

Rooker is known for his power, following up his .242 ISO from last season with a .245 ISO this year. Cecconi has been done in by the long ball, giving up 12 home runs over just 53.1 innings. Rooker certainly has home-run upside in this matchup.

Brendan Donovan – OF/2B/3B, STL vs. Frankie Montas ($3,700 DK; $2,900 FD)

After getting off to a slow start, Donovan is 34-for-96 (.354) with a .542 slugging percentage across his last 26 games. During that span, he only has an 11.8 percent strikeout rate. That’s nothing new for him, given his career 14.4 percent strikeout rate. More success could be on the horizon versus Montas, who has allowed a .363 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season.

Also consider: Marcell Ozuna, Steven Kwan, Tyler O'Neill
