MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/12/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Shohei Ohtani - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on June 12, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

There are a lot of games with early start times on Wednesday, leaving us with just eight games to choose from for the main evening slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/12/2024, with the slate starting at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Sonny Gray vs. PIT ($10,000 DraftKings; $11,000 FanDuel)

Gray has experienced some command issues lately, walking seven batters over his last two starts. After getting off to an excellent start, he has allowed 21 runs (19 earned) across 31.1 innings in his last six outings. Still, he has a 3.21 ERA this season that is supported by a 2.73 FIP. This is a potential bounce-back spot for him against the Pirates, who have the second-worst OPS in baseball against right-handed pitchers.

Bryce Miller vs. CWS ($9,000 DraftKings; $10,300 FanDuel)

The White Sox continue to be a team to attack in DFS. Their lineup has been awful, scoring the fewest runs in baseball. They are averaging only 3.1 runs per game for the season. The next worst team is the Marlins, who have averaged 3.6 runs per game. Miller doesn’t carry a ton of strikeout upside with his career 22.8 percent strikeout rate, but this matchup still makes him one of the top pitching options for this slate.

David Peterson vs. MIA ($6,300 DraftKings; $6,800 FanDuel)

We’ve already highlighted the Marlins’ inability to score runs. Another stat working in Peterson’s favor is that the Marlins have a lackluster .589 OPS against left-handed pitchers. That’s even more telling when you consider that they have had the third-most at-bats against southpaws in baseball. This is a great spot to take a chance on Peterson in tournament play.

Also consider: Tanner Bibee at CIN

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Pete Alonso – 1B, NYM vs. Braxton Garrett ($5,100 DK; $3,500 FD)

Garrett had a late start to the season because of a shoulder injury. He has made five starts since making his return, allowing at least five runs in three of them. That included a previous start against the Mets in which he gave up six runs over 4.1 innings. While his power production is down a bit this season, Alonso still has 14 home runs and can exploit this matchup.

J.P. Crawford – SS, SEA vs. Jonathan Cannon ($4,000 DK; $3,000 FD)

Cannon didn’t even reach Triple-A until this year. Through eight starts at that level, he allowed a 5.50 ERA and a 4.56 FIP. He has logged a total of 16.2 innings with the White Sox, giving up 11 runs along the way. Part of his problem has been an inability to keep hitters off base. Last year, he had a 1.58 WHIP at Double-A. He then posted a 1.53 WHIP at Triple-A this year. In the majors, he has a 1.62 WHIP. This could be a great spot to take a chance on Crawford, who has three home runs and four doubles over his last 11 games.

DJ LeMahieu – 1B/3B, NYY vs. Dan Altavilla ($3,300 DK; $2,300 FD)

LeMahieu is still looking for his first home run of the season after missing time with a foot injury. However, he has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games, producing a .368 OBP along the way. His salary is cheap enough to make him worth considering against Daniel Lynch, who will likely follow the opener, Altavilla. Lynch has a career of 5.21 ERA and 4.85 FIP.

Also consider: Freddie Freeman, Anthony Volpe, Luis Rengifo

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Shohei Ohtani - OF, LAD vs. TBD, TEX ($6,500 DK; $4,300 FD)

Ohtani has thrived at home, posting a .281 ISO and a .445 wOBA at Dodger Stadium. He is also demolishing right-handed pitchers, posing a .345 ISO and a .454 wOBA against them this year. Michael Lorenzen hasn’t officially been named as Wednesday’s starter, but he is lined up on normal rest. Another option for the Rangers would be Jose Urena. Ohtani is still a great option for whoever takes the mound.

Taylor Ward – OF, LAA vs. Slade Cecconi ($4,500 DK; $2,800 FD)

Cecconi allows a lot of home runs. Over 116.1 innings at Triple-A last year, he was taken deep 24 times. He has only logged 41.1 innings with the Diamondbacks this year, but he has already allowed 10 home runs. Ward has 12 home runs this season, 10 of which have come off right-handed pitchers. The only bit of caution here is that Ward was removed in the eighth inning of Tuesday’s game with lower back tightness. The Angels said the move was a precaution, so there’s a chance that he doesn’t miss any time. If he is in the lineup Wednesday, he is a terrific option.

Luke Raley – OF, SEA vs. Jonathan Cannon ($3,600 DK; $2,500 FD)

Going back to the Mariners facing Cannon, Raley is another appealing option within their lineup. Of the 25 home runs that he has hit since the beginning of last season, 22 of them have come off right-handed pitchers. He also has a .895 OPS at home this season, compared to a .598 OPS on the road.

Also consider: Aaron Judge, David Fry, J.D. Martinez
