MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/12/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Bobby Witt Jr. - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top MLB DFS daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on April 12, 2024. Mike Barner's MLB DFS sleepers picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Friday brings a busy schedule across baseball that will leave 12 games for the main slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. There are a couple of potential weather concerns, but for the most part, rain shouldn’t have a huge impact on the slate.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/12/2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

Good luck, RotoBallers!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kevin Gausman vs. Rockies ($10,00 DraftKings; $10,000 FanDuel)

Gausman was destroyed by the Yankees in his last start, allowing six runs (five earned) over 1.1 innings. As concerning as that stat line was, he didn’t have a full spring training season to get up to speed because of a shoulder injury. As he continues to build up arm strength, his numbers should improve. This is a great get-right spot for him against the Rockies in Toronto. Last season, the Rockies had a .650 OPS on the road.

Andrew Abbott at CWS ($8,200 DraftKings; $8,400 FanDuel)

The White Sox are another lineup to attack. Through 12 games, they have scored just 29 runs. They didn’t enter the season with a ton of talent, and since then, Eloy Jimenez (thigh), Luis Robert Jr. (hip), and Yoan Moncada (groin) have all landed on the injured list. Looking to exploit their weak lineup will be Abbott, who had a 3.87 ERA, 4.20 FIP, and 26.1 percent strikeout rate last season.

Paul Blackburn vs. WAS ($7,600 DraftKings; $9,000 FanDuel)

Blackburn is a more viable option when the Athletics are playing at home. Last season, he had a 4.44 FIP and a 1.78 WHIP on the road. At home, he had a 3.50 FIP and a 1.32 WHIP. In addition to the favorable location for this game, Blackburn will take on a Nationals team that has scored only 46 runs over 12 games. He is an especially appealing option at his salary on DraftKings.

Also consider: Bryce Miller vs. CHC, Max Fried at MIA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bobby Witt Jr. - SS, KC vs. Luis Severino ($6,300 DK; $3,800 FD)

Witt was right in the thick of the Royals’ dismantling of the Astros on Thursday, hitting 4-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI, and four runs scored. After breaking out with 30 home runs last season, he has a .396 ISO in the early going. Expect him to be a difficult matchup for Severino, who gave up 23 home runs over 89.1 innings last season.

Maikel Garcia – 3B/SS, KC vs. Luis Severino ($4,700 DK; $3,100 FD)

After hitting just four home runs over 123 games last season, Garcia has already gone deep three times this year. A breakout in the power department was bound to happen, given that he had a 50.6 percent hard-hit rate last season. That mark stands at 52.4 percent this year, while he also has a 16.7 percent barrel rate. Garcia and Witt should be two key pieces of any Royals stack.

Brice Turang – 2B, MIL vs. Tyler Wells ($3,300 DK; $3,200 FD)

Unlike Garcia, Turang doesn’t produce a ton of quality contact. He only had a 26.0 percent hard-hit rate and a 2.9 percent barrel rate last season, contributing to his .262 wOBA and .082 ISO. He is off to a hot start this year with a .394 wOBA and a .184 ISO, despite only having a 23.3 percent hard-hit rate. Some regression could be coming, but his speed also helps his cause. Wells only has a 23.0 percent strikeout rate for his career. If Turang can put a couple of balls in play, he could provide value, especially at his salary on DraftKings.

Also consider: Ozzie Albies, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Elly De La Cruz

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Juan Soto - OF, NYY vs. Carlos Carrasco ($6,100 DK; $4,100 FD)

Soto continues to command the strike zone, recording a 17.7 percent walk rate and a 12.9 percent strikeout rate this season. That has helped him produce a .444 wOBA. Up next is a matchup against Carrasco, who had a 6.80 ERA and 5.86 FIP last season. Soto salary is expensive, but he might be too good to pass up.

Spencer Steer - OF, CIN vs. Chris Flexen ($5,400 DK; $3,800 FD)

Flexen has allowed 12 hits and issued five walks over just 10.2 innings this season. He has a 1.49 WHIP for his career, so his inability to keep hitters off base is nothing new. The Reds should be a popular team to stack, with Steer one of the top options to include in such a stack. Not only does he have a .349 ISO in the early going, but he has just a 13.7 percent strikeout rate.

Marcell Ozuna - OF, ATL vs. Trevor Rogers ($4,600 DK; $3,900 FD)

The Braves’ lineup is loaded. With so much talent around him, Ozuna can sometimes fly under the radar. However, he should not be overlooked with him having a 182 wRC+ this season. The lefty Rogers being on the mound could also provide a boost for Ozuna. For his career, Ozuna has a .350 wOBA and a .213 ISO versus southpaws.

Also consider: Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Alex Verdugo
