LEC DFS Picks (6/17/22) - DraftKings and FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Nolan's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LEC on 6/17/22. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome back to another League of Legends DFS fantasy slate! The LEC is finally back for the summer split after G2 took home the crown in the Spring.

The LEC starts with a super week giving us 3 slates of games over the weekend. I am going away on a trip this weekend so will only be covering the Friday slate, but will be back next week with coverage for both days. During the offseason we saw 5 teams make roster changes, some bringing in veteran names as well as some brand new rookies making their debuts.

I'll provide my League of Legends DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for this LEC slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at noon EST on Friday, June 17th, 2022. If you have any questions about the slate or anything please reach out to me on Twitter @nolanroth10. I'll do my best to provide some useful analysis, and the odds listed are from Pinnacle. Let's jump right into the matchups, and good luck RotoBallers.

LEC Matches

VIT (-210) vs. MAD (+161)

The LEC summer split starts off with a great opening game with VIT going up against MAD. I was surprised to see VIT be such large favorites with MAD improving their lineup with the addition of Nisqy in the mid-lane. Week one is always tough to predict but I am leaning towards MAD in this one. The entire MAD roster is incredibly cheap and allows you to match them with any team on the slate.

VIT was supposed to be the super team last split and did not live up to expectations. They have made a change in the jungle moving away from SelfMade and inserting Haru. Haru facing Elyoya in his first stage game is not an easy task and while VIT will be better than last split it might take them a few games to get going.

Top VIT plays: Perkz, Alphari

Top MAD plays: Elyoya, Unforgiven, Nisqy, Kaiser

BDS (-105) vs. SK (-124)

BDS/SK is quite the drop-off from the first game in terms of talent. BDS made a change in the top lane and at support while SK kept the roster the same. Advantage SK in this one and SK was one of the highest-scoring teams in their wins last split so this could be a sneaky spot here. In a top lane carry meta we could see some huge performances from JNX (previously Jenax) and facing up against Agressivo who will be making his LEC debut we might just see one here. I expect BDS to be a bottom 2 team and will be stacking against them plenty this split.

Top SK plays: JNX, Jezu, Treatz, Sertuss

MSF (-110) vs. XL (-120)

This game is a tough one for me, I don't have a great feeling either way, but I expect XL to take a step forward while MSF takes a small step back. Both sides of this game are viable if multi-entering but I would lean XL if deciding on one.

XL was a much better team after the addition of Mikyx midway through the spring and MSF will be coming in with a slightly different roster after calling up top laner Irrelevant. While I have questions on why you would pick that name, I expect he will be much more relevant than HiRit was for them in the last split. We all know Vetheo is capable of carrying any game as well.

Top MSF plays: Vetheo, Shlatan, Neon

Top XL plays: Patrik, Mikyx, Finn, Markoon

G2 (-600) vs. AST (+375)

This is a smash spot for the reigning champs as G2 should have no trouble with AST. G2 continued to get better as they got comfortable with this roster and we saw them make a deep run during MSI. AST on the other hand blew up their roster swapping out 3 of the 5 starters. Nothing else needs to be said. Play G2 on this slate but they will come with some ownership

Top G2 plays: Everyone

RGE (-135) vs. FNC (+105)

We finish off the Friday slate with a great game. Both teams return with the same rosters after performing quite well during spring. I always seem to doubt Rogue coming into a split but the odds look very accurate in this one. I expect this to be a close match with Rogue winning the macro plays and eventually taking the win after a big team fight later into the game. This isn't the same FNC of years past where they were hyper-aggressive and would take any fight they could. While Hylissang still has those moments the kill total of this game might not hit some of the others unless we get a long back and forth game. Slight lean to Rogue in this one

Top RGE plays: Comp, Larssen, Malrang, Trymbi

Top FNC plays: Hylissang, Upset, Razork

Summary

  1. TLDR: G2 is in a smash spot and MAD is surprisingly cheap.
  2. GPP Stacks: My favorite combinations for GPP stacks are G2/MAD/SK
  3. Cash Stacks: For cash, RGE/G2/SK

Good luck tomorrow RotoBallers!
