ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar made his MLB debut during the 2023 campaign. He played a major role down the stretch and even earned a spot on their World Series roster. Lawlar was a popular breakout pick heading into the 2024 campaign as he appeared prime for an everyday role in Arizona.
However, the former sixth overall pick battled numerous injuries and was only able to appear in 23 MiLB contests during the entire season, and did not return to the majors. In this brief stint, Lawlar continued to produce, posting a .318/.417/.482 slash line. As a result, the Diamondbacks opted to keep Lawlar with Triple-A Reno at the start of the 2025 season.
Through 37 games, Lawlar continued to hit, posting an impressive .336/.413/.579 line with 15 doubles, six home runs, and 13 stolen bases. This hot start earned him a promotion to the majors on May 12.
However, since returning to Arizona, Lawlar has been deployed typically in a bench role. Since May 13, the top prospect in the desert has only appeared in seven games and has yet to tally a hit. Given Geraldo Perdomo's .296/.394/.460 line, fantasy managers should not expect Lawlar to see much playing time over him.

While the 22-year-old has elite upside and a bright future, his short-term outlook is not ideal for fantasy. He should only be added in deeper 12+ team formats as a depth infielder.
